Pray for Nepal

image

Pastor Haron guest posted for A Relentless Surrender three short weeks ago. Today, I still have not heard if Pastor Haron, his wife, children, church or community are among the survivors of the earthquake in Nepal.

My stomachs been in knots as I diligently watch social media, my email and news reports for word. I don’t know if he is unable to access working Internet or if he is busy helping others or if he has been injured, but I do know this, Pastor Haron’s country and ministry are in dire need of prayer.

In the introduction I wrote for his guest post I said,”Pastor Haron is always on his knees. This man is anointed. He has said a brave, “yes!” to a sacred calling on his life. He is truly a reflection of Christ’s love and humble service.”

I know if Pastor Haron could reach out to us he would ask that we join him by getting on our knees on behalf of his country.

There are a lot of “pray for Nepal” post floating around. I plead with you to not merely click like or say we will pray in the comments. This is a 3:33 moment,

there is an urgency! The death toll is climbing. The injured are mounding, let us pray for restoration, healing, that God would reveal Himself to the lost, and that God gives ALL people of Nepal peace that surpasses all understanding as they walk through this time.

All I Know is I was Blind but Now I See

The blind man who Jesus had just healed answered the Pharisees with, I don’t know everything about Him but this I do know, I was blind, but now I see. (St.John 9:25)

I love how as you read on through this story the Blind man continues to grow in His understanding of who Jesus is.  The blind mans first account refers to his healer as “a man named Jesus.” (St.John 9:11) later in verse 17 he calls him “a profit”, and he again refers to Jesus as “a man of God” in verse 33. After this, the Pharisees cast him out of the temple.

The once blind man displayed loyalty to Jesus when he boldly testified of Jesus’ work in his life. I can take a lesson from that.

Jesus never stops there. He never takes care of our flesh without concerning Himself with our souls. Jesus found him and ask him if He believed in the Son of God. The once blind man answered, “tell me about him so that I can believe on Him.” Jesus tells him that he is speaking to the Son of God. Then the blind man said, “Lord I believe.” And He worshipped Him.

I love watching the man grow in knowledge and  understanding. It reminds me of my own process. I am continuously seeing anther facet of Christ. The fact that He requires so many names for us to even begin to understand who He really is makes my heart flutter.

I love how his encounter with Christ changed him so dramatically. In verses 8-9 it reveals he was a mystery to those who knew him before his encounter with Jesus. Can you relate? I know I can!

What astounds me even more is how God is so contradictory without being contradictory at all. He is our king and our servant. He is our God and our friend. He is our judge and our advocate.

When we grow in our own understanding of who God is we also grow our worship and adoration of Him.

You know, we never hear the blind man’s name in this story. It seems kind of sad to only be known by your handicap. I have an inkling that the blind man wouldn’t have cared though. I believe his name didn’t matter because he knew the story was really about Jesus and he was content to allow God the glory. Are we?

Missional Women

You know it’s gotta be good when anyone prays and labors over anything as much as Laura Krokos has prayed and labored over the new Missional Women app. Oh, and it’s free!

For weeks I have been impatiently waiting for the day I could download the new Missional Women app, and let me tell you it far exceeded my expectations.

Did I mention it’s free?!

When I joined the Missional Women’s app launch team I was unsure if I would actually be able to write a blog post about it. Maybe a little social media promotion but… However, 30 seconds after I opened it for the first time, I knew I could find plenty of good things to say about it. I truly felt in my heart that this could revive and revolutionize the way women walk with God and study His word.

It does offer Bible studies but it offers even more:

* The Bible

* Audio Bible

* Bible reading plans

* All the helpful Missional Women articles

* Discipleship resources

* Lock screens

* And tons more

Did I mention its free?

My mission in creating ARelentlessSurrender.com was to create honesty, transparency and intimacy so that the body of Christ could be enlarged and strengthened. I’m really not a salesmen (did I mention it’s FREE?) but I believe this app can help do just that.

So today’s the day I’ve been giddy about, and I can’t tell you how honored I am to be a tiny part of the MW app launch team or how proud I am of Laura Krokos. She has blessed me for the two years I have been a part of her MW community and I KNOW she will bless you also.

Check out the app, leave a review and join in the fun at the launch party. You’ll be nothing but blessed.
